A Berry Good Sangria

Summer…patio…sangria….

What a trio.

Eliot's Eats

Chock full of berries.

We love to have a leisurely summer weekend (which doesn’t happen very often) when we can sit on the patio and sip some sangria.   If we’re not working in the yard, then it is often times too hot to sit on the patio.   This past holiday weekend we found ourselves without house guests and with at least one day when the weather was not boiling.

We vowed to take it easy on Sunday, enjoy the cooler weather, and partake of a Berry Good Sangria.

A friend of mine makes wine and had gifted me some of her blackberry wine.  I had been saving it for such a day.

A Berry Good Sangria
from Eliot’s Eats

1 bottle blackberry wine
1 c. rosé
3 oz. framboise or any raspberry liqueur
1 1/4 c. pomegranate juice
1/4 c. simple syrup
1/2 c. blueberries
1/2 c. blackberries
1/2 c. grapes
Other assorted fruit as desired
Club soda or sparkling water

Mix all ingredients and refrigerate for at least two hours.   Top off each serving with a bit of club soda or sparkling water.  (LaCroix “Berry” flavor was a perfect compliment to finish off this sangria.)
