12 Days of Cookies

So, it’s that time again…..that time when our local paper runs a 12 Days of Cookies contest.

For the past few years or so, I have entered faithfully.

Nope, I’ve never been picked.

So for this year, I wanted to share the recipes I entered with you, dear readers.  I trust your palates and tastes greatly and hope that you can help me rate these cookies.

All of these recipes can be found on earlier posts.

  • Hi Debra:)
Kudos to you for being so relentless in entering the newspaper cookie contest. I would never be so brave:) If I really had to choose one of these cookies, because all of them sound pretty darn good to me, I would go with the Banana Cookies with Browned Butter Frosting. Although, I’m really liking those Holiday Carrot Cake Cookies too. Oh my, decisions, decisions, lol…Good Luck to you Debra whatever cookie you enter. I wouldn’t mind having any one of them right now!!!

I want to taste all of them! So festive and delicious. All the best with the cookie contest, Debra!
    Have a fantastic weekend!

  • Good luck! I only entered once and when I didn’t win, I took my toys and went home. 🙂 Hahahaha! I love those dark chocolate blackberry jam cookies and since I’m making my mom’s friends tins of cookies (from her) I believe I’ll be adding that to my list since I have both here. But Jerry – he thinks the banana cookies with browned butter would go well…….but you can’t tell from him because he loves anything banana! Good luck!

They all sound equally good to me (except the banana ones, unlike the other commenters, I hate bananas). I wonder how those contests evaluate good recipes, assuming that they only look at the written version, and don’t taste it except maybe for a few finalists. What were the characteristics of prior years’ winners?

    • How can you hate bananas? :). I couldn’t really tell what the criteria was. We didn’t have to submit pictures, just the recipe. Maybe it is just how they sound on paper,

  • Debra, seriously….you’ve never been picked with a lineup of delicious cookies like these? Something is crooked in the voting department!! Salivating as I look these beauties over.

Hey, by the way, thanks for your comment at my book blog. Yes, you definitely would enjoy Broadchurch. The music is stirring too.

Oh, my gosh! I like them all and want to try some, esp. the blackberry jam cookie. Something must be wrong with the judges for not choosing yours! Here’s hoping you win this year, good luck!

    • Well, I have no emails in my inbox as of yet. I will have to check the paper starting next week to see if I made the cut. Thanks for the kudos, Pam.
