Finally home from a hectic, CRAZY, and absurd day at work. Could not wait to get to the garden.
I remember the few times we had a successful garden growing up and how I thought picking, preparing, and putting up our produce was a tremendous chore. Now, I find it relaxing and fulfilling.
I think the process of picking and preparing puts a chaotic day into perspective somehow. Just the simple task of picking and shelling peas is so rewarding and relaxing. And, why is that? I started with a full colander of peas but after I shelled them, I ended up with maybe a cup and a half. Any other completed task that left me with so little to show for my work would leave me totally frustrated. Maybe it only boils down to the mindlessness of shelling peas!
