Eight years ago this month I shelled out big bucks to not only hear Anthony but to also get the privilege of standing in line for a meet ‘n greet autograph session.
I took my Les Halles Cookbook and I asked The Hubs to take my copy of Medium Raw. The autograph session took place after the show and Anthony seemed a bit spent and was enjoying a few beers from a nearby ice chest.
It was the highlight of my year.
Friday was definitely a low point. I have read other bloggers that have put their feelings in much more eloquent ways than this sad post.
All I will say is I feel gut punched.
RIP, Chef.
I am keeping Bourdain’s family, friends, and co-workers in my thoughts.
I was in shock when I read the news yesterday..he was the best! RIP, Rock Star in the culinary world!
I still feel gut-punched. Such a loss.
Very good post. I’m stunned by his death.
Gut punched is the perfect term. One Mr. Bourdain might have used. Good tribute — thanks.
Sad, sad. Lucky you for seeing him, wish I would’ve. Thought he was the real deal!
It was so hard watching Parts Unknown in Cajun country tonight. It brought me to tears. He will be missed. Lucky you for having got to meet him and get an autograph.
