Last weekend we visited the China Town and Vietnamese Markets in KC. We were originally looking for some interesting cutting boards and a bamboo steamer. What we found in the traditional bamboo steamers seemed a bit pricey. But, we found these really cute ones that seemed to come in all sizes and they were cheap.
I wanted to cook Asian tonight—some steamed dumplings or meatballs—but LUCKILY I got home late and we decided to grab Chinese food. I say “luckily” because after I got home and was doing some research on how to cook with a bamboo steamer, I found out we had not purchased what we thought.
Imagine my surprise when I found out (via You Tube) that we had actually purchased a Thai sticky rice serving basket. Doh!
Definitely not a steamer
Well, I feel pretty stupid, but I do have a new, cool kitchen accessory to hang from my pot rack.
