For last month’s #Greenslove hop, I went to my new copy of the big green Gourmet Today cookbook. (Oh, how I miss Gourmet magazine—sorry, I have to say that every time it is mentioned.) This month’s blog-love theme is #Berrylove. So, for this month’s blog hop, I decided to revisit that great green book and search for a berry recipe to share.
It didn’t take long. On page eighteen I found “Raspberry Orange Margarita.” SOLD!
Here is my take, inspired by that recipe.
RaspberryLOVE Margarita
2 c. frozen raspberries (unsweetened)
1 c. orange juice
1 c. white tequila (100% agave)
1 T. agave nectar
mint for garnishPlace all ingredients (except mint) in a blender and puree until smooth.
Pour into glasses and garnish with mint.
NOTE: If raspberry seeds give you problems, strain this mixture before you pour into glasses and serve with ice.
Link up your own #Berrylove post this month and share that bloglove. Everyone is welcome to link up berry recipes any time this month…the only rule is that they must be from an April 2012 blog post.
Again, thanks to Lizzy at That Skinny Chick Can Bake for posting a great raspberry pie recipe for this hop and reminding me to get on the #Berrylove bandwagon!
Yum, I love a good margarita, and this one looks delicious. 🙂
I would love one now!
I sure could go for one of these right now. I love the fruit. I like to freeze it when it is in season. That stuff is expensive if you buy it out of season.
And, it really works better if the fruit is frozen.
I wish I could host a cocktail party and invite you all! (Is it Friday yet?)
These drinks look too beautiful! Love them my friend 😀
Cheers

They would are great without the alcohol too, my friend!
Who’s gonna notice some little seeds when you’re drinking a MAR-GA-RITA???
Not I, my friend.
Lovely. I can taste it now.
I bet those are berry good! I’ll have one or two, thank you berry much. Ok I’m done now.
Ok, so my husband and I luuuv margaritas but I have never made a raspberry version… I think I’m going to go for it this weekend as a surprise! Thanks for the inspiration Eliot.
Jen, Rhonda, and Kelly—
Hope you like them berry much! Have a very berry weekend. (OK, I am done now too.)
TGIF (or almost, anyway)!
Sounds very yummy! I’m sorry I forgot to ask you how you weathered the tornadoes! I remember last time you cracked me up with a photo of your “storm damage” and hope that you didn’t even have a chair turn over this time. 😀
We had no tornado (or earthquake damage) thank goodness! 🙂 Glad you didn’t suffer any damage.
[…] Naming your cat after T.S. Eliot has got to count for something, yes? I selected their Raspberry Margartias for my recipe. In the dead of Winter – with the wind blasting the garbage cans down the road […]
