Welcome to Top Ten Tuesdays!
This week’s theme revolves around our favorite quotes. Some of my favorites are literary and some are pulled from my favorite books. Some are profound. Some may be profane. All speak to me in some way.

Do I dareDisturb the universe? In a minute there is timeFor decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.—from “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” by T.S. Eliot

“God, please help me not be an asshole, is about as common a prayer as I pray in my life.” ― Pastrix: The Cranky, Beautiful Faith of a Sinner & Saint
-
“Maybe the only thing that matters is to make our lives last as long as we do. You know, to make a life last until it ends, to make all the parts come out even, like when you rub the last piece of bread in the last drop of oil on your plate and eat it with the last sip of wine in your glass.” ― A Thousand Days in Tuscany: A Bittersweet Adventure
- “In a world as wrong as this one, all we can do is make things as right as we can.” ―
The Bean Trees - “We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.” ― The Complete Collected Poems
-
“I can hear the sizzle of newborn stars, and know anything of meaning, of the fierce magic emerging here. I am witness to flexible eternity, the evolving past, and I know we will live forever, as dust or breath in the face of stars, in the shifting pattern of winds.” ― Secrets from the Center of the World
- “If you aren’t cute, you may as well be clever.” ― Me Talk Pretty One Day
-
“Sing your song. Dance your dance. Tell your tale.” ― Angela’s Ashes
-
“Life makes itself with little heed for the appropriate.” ― The Lesser Bohemians
-
“I’m a smeller of books and a marker-upper of books.” ― We’re All Damaged

Your choice of quotes is wonderful and very original!
be well… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks, Mae. I have one or two of these posted around my office. 🙂
Love these beautiful and inspiring quotes! Thanks for sharing, Deb.
Well, thank you, Angie. You know I had to through a bit of snark in there though.
These are all good quotes.
My post .
Thanks, Lydia!
Love quote number two. I feel like that prayer often passes through my mind, too, and it’s not usually answered, either. xD Maya Angelou’s writing is fabulous, too, and that’s a great quote!
Here’s my TTT post.
Thanks, Sammie. I think if we’re honest, it’s a prayer we often have.
You of course have to start with a quote from T.S. Eliot. 🙂 Neat selection of quotes and such a fun idea for a post — thanks.
You know I had to. 🙂
