I started with one recipe from one of my magazines—it might have been EatingWell.
As I stared at my refrigerator, freezer and pantry, upset that I didn’t have the basic smoothie ingredients, I started to improvise. I ended up with a totally new recipe and a very beautiful smoothie.
Strawberry-Spinach Smoothie
I started with one recipe but ended up with something completely different.
Ingredients
- 2 c. white cranberry juice
- 1 c. low fat plain Greek yogurt
- 1 c. baby spinach
- 1 banana
- 2 T . raw sunflower seeds
- 1 1/2 c. frozen strawberries
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a large blender. Puree.
Yield: 5 cups
Please notice that this makes five cups. Depending on the size of your smoothie cups, the recipe could serve 2-4. (We used large cups!) 🙂
I just love the flecks of red and green in this smoothie.
white cranberry juice? Don’t think I have ever seen one, let alone to taste one. The smoothie sounds really healthy. Have a wonderful weekend, Deb!
I think it would be a beautiful color with regular cranberry juice. That’s just what I had in the fridge. 🙂 You have a great weekend as well!!!!
It looks beautiful with those red & green flecks, but I am a total no-smoothie person– I hate bananas!
Hope your weekend is turning out nice… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
It looks really delicious and pretty too! I’m probably the only person who has never made a smoothie, so should try your recipe!
