Whoo hoo! It is Secret Recipe Club time again! If you have been under a rock for the past year, then let me explain Secret Recipe Club. SRC is a club for the avid, rabid, zealous foodie. The great hosts, Jane, Suzanne, Angela and April, pair up the members each month. The goal? Lurk around your assigned site and find something fabulous to make and then share it with everyone during reveal day.
Today is the day! Be prepared for a big foodie adventure for this reveal! This month I got Jane’s Adventures in Dining.
Jane started her site during her maternity leave to chronicle what she was cooking. It has morphed into so much more. Her site is simply put, delightful.
She describes its current state as “dedicated to my journey to enjoying the life that I’ve been lucky enough to be given.”
Any mistakes are my own and largely well-meaning.
Nutella Cookies
From Jane’s Adventures in Dinner1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. nutella
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. whole wheat pastry flour
1 t.baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped hazelnutsPrehheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together sugars, nutella and butter. Add eggs one at a time and beat until incorporated. Whisk dry ingredients together in a separate small mixing bowl and then add to batter. Beat until incorporated. Add hazelnuts and mix in.
Drop using a small cookie scoop on to a silpat or parchment lined pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes (they’ll be a bit soft but take them out anyway otherwise the chocolate gets overdone).
These are great little cookies. The only changes I made was to add some whole wheat flour and chopped hazelnuts (or filberts).
I used Montana Wheat flour but if you can’t find that use whole wheat pastry flour.
Really, truly delicious cookies! I made a batch right before I had to leave town for a three-day conference (3 days). When I returned home, there was not a crumb of these cookies left. Guess I will have to make another batch for myself.
Please check out Jane’s site and take part in some of her adventures!

Delicious! I love Nutella–especially in cookies 🙂
Thanks! I now do too!
Great looking cookies! Now I know how to use some of the 10 glasses of Nutella we have in the closet 🙂
Ooh! Makes lots of cookies!
Looks amazing! Nutella is always in the pantry – love the idea of using it in a cookie!
Thanks, Aly. Like I stated, I need to make more now!
Teri, I am trying to find this type of flour that is locally sourced. It is awesome!
These look delicious. Yum!! I love nutella! That flour looks interesting. I hope I can find some to try!
My twins LOVE nutella, but I have not baked with it YET!
If you haven’t had a chance come check out my SRC recipe! http://momscrazycooking.blogspot.com/2012/06/german-chocolate-cracker-candy-secret.html
Tina, I will definitely check out your SRC post. I was too busy last reveal to really check out everyone’s and leave comments. Not this time! Hope you try these cookies!
Hooray for Wheat Montana! I have full access to it, let me know if you need some! I adore nutella, like Tina I have yet to bake with it.
Thanks, Rhonda. I may take you up on that. One would think that I could find a local source here in wheat country.
Nutella…in a cookie…that is heaven sent!
I love Nutella. I love cookies. Combined=Heaven!
I agree with you both. I am so thankful to SRC for pairing me up with such a great blogger and to Jane for the great recipe!
I’ve never made anything with Nutella before. Your cookies look wonderful!
You must remedy that and make something with Nutella!
These look yummy. I have one of those big Costco jars of Nutella in the pantry. I also have company coming for 2 weeks. I think I must make these soon. Great SRC pick.
I didn’t know you could buy Nutella in the industrial size! 🙂 Let me know how you like them.
Ooh, good call on the hazelnuts–I love to add them to baked goods! These cookies look amazing.
So how long was that three day conference?? 🙂 You always make me smile. These look great, but I can’t buy Nutella because I would eat the entire jar in one sitting and make myself sick. That stuff is dangerous. I figure if my kids don’t know about it, I’d better not start!
I sometimes sneak by and get a spoonful and think, “Why did I do that?!” But these cookies are not really sweet and you get the best of the choco and hazelnut!
You can never go wrong with Nutella…Delish!
If you haven’t already, I’d love for you to check out my group “A” SRC entry: Candied Popcorn.

Thanks, Lisa. Will do!
Yummy! I am on a serious nutella kick lately too. I love that stuff!! These look delicious. Great choice for SRC!!
Isn’t it funny? I get on Nutella kicks too. (However, it is easy to get too much of the good stuff!) 🙂
I have Nutella that needs to be in cookies ASAP…and this looks like the perfect recipe! Yummy!
Would you believe until very recently The Hubs had never heard or had Nutella! I remedied that, I can tell you! 🙂
This look delicious!!
You are just a peach! So glad to have been paired with you this month. Just a treat (pun, totally intended). I’ve now added you to my blogroll so I won’t miss a thing. C:
Thanks. Back at ya!!!!!!! Enjoyed lurking around your site. I love getting the secret assignment every month. Can’t wait to see what else you post up! You crack me up, Jane!
I need a few of those for my coffee this morning 🙂
I wish I had had the opportunity. Again, I must make more!
Nutella anything is awesome! I had a great time browsing your site for the perfect SRC this month an thoroughly enjoyed the Brat Burgers with Drunken Onions that I ultimately chose. Thank you so much and I’ll be back to try more recipes in the future for sure!
I think your picture was one of the best ones this reveal. You made that burger look totally awesome! Glad you got Eliot’s Eats for SRC and glad you picked that recipe! Hope it will be a summer go-to for you. Thanks again for all the kind words.
