I am happy to announce the September Food ‘n Flix feature film: Frida.
You may (or may not) know that September not only marks Mexican Independence Day (Spetember 16), but it also marks a collaborative event with Cook the Books. Last month, I announced that I was hosting the August/September round for CtB with The Secret Books of Frida Kahlo. To coincide with the Cook the Books event, I am also hosting Frida for this month’s Food ‘n Flix.
Julie Taymor (of Broadway’s Lion King fame) directs the film. Be prepared for some surrealist and fantastical scenes. Also be prepared for some great performances by Salma Hayek, Alfred Molina, Edward Norton, Antonia Banderas, Ashley Judd, Geoffrey Rush, et al.
Please join both clubs, Cook the Books and Food ‘n Flix, for this paired event. You can post a recipe for one or both or do a combined post. Just email me (eliotseats@gmail.com) with the name and url of your post(s) and a picture (or permission to pull from your website). For the CTB announcement post, click here.
How to participate in Food ‘n Flix:
- Watch the chosen film: Frida. Taking inspiration from the film, head into the kitchen and cook or bake or make something.
- Post about it on your blog with a link back to THIS post and a link to Food ‘n Flix. Use of the logo is optional.
- Your post must be current (during month of film). And, we don’t mind if your post is linked to other events…the more the merrier.
- Have fun with it!
- Email your entries to me (Debra) at eliotseats@gmail.com and include. Please also CC Heather at heather@foodnflixclub.com.
