I am addicted to flavored water this summer.
Last summer got me hooked when Sassy Water was making the Pinterest rounds.
Now I am experimenting with whatever fresh stuff I have in the kitchen.
Most recently (with 2 1/2 flats of blackberries to use), I dreamed this up.
I am really fickle, but this is my new favorite.
Blackberry-Cucumber Water
1/2 c. fresh blackberries
1 medium cucumber, sliced
1 sprig mint
2 qts. filtered waterPlace blackberries in a small bowl with a bit of water and muddle. Strain juice into a 2 quart pitcher. (Discard seeds and pulp.)
Add cucumbers, mint and filtered water.
Chill for at least one hour.
Another great water to keep you sippin’ all summer is Blueberry-Thyme Water.
Use the same process as above just use muddled blueberries, filtered water, and sprigs of thyme. It is delicious and really refreshing.
Here is Abigail’s virtual flower for the day. Send up some good thoughts and prayers for her today.
I’m going to stopping surfing and get up and make this right now! Looks SO good!
How’d you like it?
Your flavored water sounds delicious, but I have to say that the flower steals the show. It’s gorgeous.
Thank you. Just got home from a long weekend and it survived. Yeah!
And you suddenly made water the most classy drink in the world 🙂
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
Thanks, Uru. Cheers!
I’m a water drinker. You’ve made me feel fancy!
Fancy shmancy water. 🙂
This is so fun and so pretty!
Thanks, Chris.
Look how pretty the color is ~ What a great looking pitcher of flavored water! I like the ingredients too – blackberries – yum! I’m with you — heavily into the natural flavored stuff to change up the ordinary and make it so much tastier. And in the summer, it’s so easy to toss in the freshies from the garden – be it veggies or delightful herbs. Thoughts for sweet Abigail – xo.
Thanks, Kelly. I need to whip up some more for an awesome Monday!
My goodness how pretty that looks! I bet it tastes just as good –
The taste is delicious and refreshing.
I feel instantly cooled down just looking at at it! A beautiful and delightful drink!
I need to get me a glass NOW! Already getting hot and humid here.
I’m totally into flavored water ever since we got out sodastream. Love the bubbles and flavor, as long as it gets me to drink my water, right! I haven’t tried a blackberry version yet, it looks so refreshing, what a way to beat the heat!
Sodastream? That is a good idea.
Oh my this looks so yummy and refreshing. I have some strawberries in the fridge. Great idea!
Ooh….strawberries with some lemon and basil. YUM!
Besides being just plain gorgeous, I would love sipping on this flavor infused water all summer long!
My goal is to have a pitcher of some healthy combo in the fridge all summer long.
This couldn’t have been more appropriate for our hot summer days here Debra!
Hope it keeps you cool.
Debra, this is such a lovely dring in hot summers in Mumbai! I would love to make this…never added blackberries to my drink yet, but this sure looks great!
Hope you try it.
Debra, I love the idea of this refreshing and flavorful summer drink. Perfect for all this heat. Love your brick walls too. I always wanted a brick house and we said, every time we moved, the next house will be brick! But this is our third residence and we still have a wooden house. Oh well.
Most everything here is brick. It’s funny how many different styles are regional. Glad you didn’t look closer to see the blue tarp and saw horses from pergola construction.
This flower doesn’t even look real. Pretty cool. I was thinking of you since peach season is rolling here in in GA. I still have my post ready when you are.
I’ll email you. I picked five off of our Redhaven tree. Not enough to make jam though. 🙂
