We hope everyone had a safe and festive New Year! I am still chronicling our recent New Mexico holiday.
We started our trek into New Mexico on some deserted snowy roads on the scenic route.
We visited two brewpubs: Duel and Santa Fe Brewing.
On Christmas Eve we walked Canyon Road in Santa Fe along with 20,000 other people, definitely not the road less traveled but full of eccentrics and revelers.
Here was a colorful, rockin’ harp player, jammin’ on the street.
Fewer galleries were open than in 2011, which I think was wise on the gallery owners’ parts. I mean, who wants 20,000 holiday revelers tromping through one’s gallery?
There was still art to be viewed.
And, on The Plaza, there was revelry galore.
But after the spirited revelry, there was a silent night.
So, dear readers, there is at least one more post about our holiday in New Mexico…(I know, I keep saying that.)
I love that last photo. Happy New Year!
I really wish I could have caught the moon better. Happy New Year to you, too!
So glad you posted all these great pictures. I’ve been telling my husband for years that we need to go to Santa Fe some Christmas season, and this is more fodder for my case. 😉 Happy New Year!
Yep, Jess. I am always there to help. Make sure you check out the rest of the NM posts for more fodder!
How wonderful to be in such a beautiful city at Christmas time. It looks like a magical setting with all the festive lights. Best wishes to you and your family for a very healthy and Happy New Year!
Thanks for posting the pictures and sharing your Christmas with us. It looks like you had a fantastic time! Happy 2015!
What a cool place to spend Christmas! Traveling for the holidays is so much fun.
Christmas Eve in New Mexico is gorgeous, isn’t it? Love your pictures!! We did the Santa Fe tour several years back when there were only 10,000 people. That was enough for us. 🙂 So now we stay close to home. Our neighborhood in ABQ is quite beautiful with all of the luminarias, so we don’t have to go far. Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday. I hope your 2015 is off to a wonderful start!!! (I’m WAY behind on blogging as well. Headed to check out the posts I missed from you.)
Oh my! I love the harpist – I bet that was a some great music. Would have loved being there – such a fun way to spend Christmas!
He was seriously rocking out, Kelli. I could not believe how long he played. There was such a crowd around him that it blocked the street! 🙂
Oh my I am envious. I don’t often get envious. But I have been yearning to go to Sante Fe and New Mexico for several years now. Gorgeous pics. I had no idea their Xmas celebration was so special.
You must, must, must go as soon as you are able, Carol! (Anytime of the year is wonderful.)
Oh my this just gets better and better, Debra. Im sure you never wanted it to end. Neither do I:) Thank you so much for sharing, Debra. I’m looking forward to the “last” post. Please don’t ask me to pick a favorite Christmas Eve picture. They are all just wonderful!!!
You are so kind, Louise. I love posting about our trips. It helps keep those memories alive in my mind. It is so easy to refer back to the blog to remember what place we ate at, etc.
How fun! Sounds like you had a wonderful time and took in some amazing sights!
We always have a great time there, Chris. Highly recommend it!
I haven’t been in New Mexico in years — definitely need to get back. Fun pictures and post — thanks. And Happy New Year!
Definitely need to go back and take Mrs. KR!
You could never want this to end, it seems like much too much fun 😀
Obviously an awesome holiday period for you!
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
It was made even more special by spending it in NM!
Happy Happy New Year Debra. Your trip looks fabulous. I’ve only been to New Mexico once and hope to go again.
Happy belated New Years to you, Jenny! Hope you can visit soon!
Such a fun trip! A gorgeous view and wonderful holiday lights!
Thanks, Liz. It was spectacular. Pictures and narrative really don’t do it justice!
