Welcome to another fabulous event hosted by Culinary Adventures with Camilla. I have been involved in a number of events that Camilla has organized, including #HotSummerEats, #TripleSBites, and #10DaysofTailgate. I jumped at the chance to be a part of #FreshTastyValentines. Camilla is the most organized and gets the most generous sponsors. Just take a look at the generous businesses that have helped with this event:
These are all extremely excellent products and companies! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the sponsors.
On opening day of #FreshTastyValentines, I wanted to highlight Gourmet Garden. They are always uber generous with their products. See:
In the dead of winter, these are my go-to products for herbs. And, truth be told, I use a lot of these products during the summer too, especially for herbs that I don’t grow like lemongrass. I absolutely adore their ginger paste. It has saved my knuckles countless scrapes from not having to grate ginger. 🙂
For my first recipe for #FreshTastyValentines, I present a lovely pink-hued vinaigrette utilizing Gourmet Garden Ginger Paste.
Pomegranate-Ginger Vinaigrette
1 garlic clove, minced
1 shallot, minced
1/3 c. pomegranate juice
2 T. white balsamic vinegar
1/2 T. Gourmet Garden Ginger Paste
1/2 c. grape seed oil
Himalayan sea salt, to tasteIn a small bowl, whisk together garlic, shallot, juice, vinegar and Gourmet Garden Ginger Paste. Slowly whisk in grape seed oil.
Taste and season with salt.
Serve on a green salad or drizzle on freshly steamed veggies.
I used this dressing on a chopped kale salad with sliced mangoes, blood oranges, pomegranate arils, and a few sunflower seeds.

Although we don’t have the winter seasons here, I often buy Gourmet Garden pastes (because I am basically lazy) and love using the ginger and garlic pastes when I don’t feel like prepping. 😉 That vinaigrette looks delicious–as does the salad you used it on.
