Summer…patio…sangria….
What a trio.
We love to have a leisurely summer weekend (which doesn’t happen very often) when we can sit on the patio and sip some sangria. If we’re not working in the yard, then it is often times too hot to sit on the patio. This past holiday weekend we found ourselves without house guests and with at least one day when the weather was not boiling.
We vowed to take it easy on Sunday, enjoy the cooler weather, and partake of a Berry Good Sangria.
A friend of mine makes wine and had gifted me some of her blackberry wine. I had been saving it for such a day.
A Berry Good Sangria
from Eliot’s Eats1 bottle blackberry wine
1 c. rosé
3 oz. framboise or any raspberry liqueur
1 1/4 c. pomegranate juice
1/4 c. simple syrup
1/2 c. blueberries
1/2 c. blackberries
1/2 c. grapes
Other assorted fruit as desired
Club soda or sparkling waterMix all ingredients and refrigerate for at least two hours. Top off each serving with a bit of club soda or sparkling water. (LaCroix “Berry” flavor was a perfect compliment to finish off this sangria.)

Sounds berry tasty!
Berry good, indeed!
What a blast of flavors, great recipe. It is indeed hot enough to sit out and sip sangria. Nothing like the homemade variety though.
By the way, I like your stemless wine glasses. We have a couple and while they aren’t good for white wine, they are smashing for reds and gin and tonic.
Mmmmm. I’ve been weeding all morning. A small G&T sounds smashing right now.
Holli and I LOVE Blackberry wine – you lucky girl! This sounds like just the drink for us!
I returned the empty bottle today and graciously asked for more. 🙂
I don’t drink too many cocktails but I’m a sucker for a good sangria! Your berry version looks amazing!!
Thank you, Liz. I think that one could forgo the simple syrup too, depending on how sweet the blackberry wine is.
