Strawberry Yogurt Ice Cream

Not slowing down.

I want to try this tonight with some of our final harvest. I keep thinking that picking will slow down but it definitely hasn’t yet.

Finally, Friday.

Wow, what a great Friday night—early summer temperature with a light breeze—just the right patio sitting weather!

Around 2:00 at work I decided it was time for the first patio party (which, as the summer progresses, becomes a Friday night ritual for us).

I perused through my adult beverage recipes and found one . . . → Read More: Finally, Friday.

Dilled Green Beans

I found an unusual (for me) burst of energy around 9:00 last night and decided to dill the green beans that I had bought at the Farmers’ Market last weekend. I stemmed and snapped them, steamed them and was preparing to boil the vinegar, water, sugar and salt mixture when I remembered the dill, the . . . → Read More: Dilled Green Beans

Future pickings.

Picked a large basket full this afternoon. Plan to make jam for presents.

We located a Shimpo pottery wheel . . . → Read More: Traveling Along I-70

Rainbow Chard

I really struggled with ordering chard seeds. I do not have fond memories of eating chard from my childhood.

My grandmother and grandfather always planted a huge garden on their farm. I know perception is everything, but it seemed like they plowed up an entire acre for grandma’s garden; I really doubt it was . . . → Read More: Rainbow Chard

At least one summer trip is planned!

We are planning on returning to Taos this summer and I cannot wait. The entire family will be there and we have rented a wonderful house that promises “unparalleled views of Taos Mountain and the Sangre de Cristo range.” I hope there is truth in advertising on this one.

One of our family traditions is . . . → Read More: At least one summer trip is planned!
