KC Restaurants

We were recently in Kansas City (I love this town!) and visited a couple of new eateries. A friend of a friend knows the owner of Garozzo’s so we decided to try it. We went to the original location in Columbus Park and as promised in the friend’s recommendation, it was just like The Sopranos. . . . → Read More: KC Restaurants

Skeletons in the closet!

OK–Have you ever delved into your family history to wish that perhaps you hadn’t have been so inquisitive? As I was working on my new page last night for this site, “Cookbooks that I Can’t Live Without” (see Foodie Reads), I listed one from my grandmother’s collection, a collection of about five or six cookbooks . . . → Read More: Skeletons in the closet!

Finally, Friday.

Wow, what a great Friday night—early summer temperature with a light breeze—just the right patio sitting weather!

Around 2:00 at work I decided it was time for the first patio party (which, as the summer progresses, becomes a Friday night ritual for us).

I perused through my adult beverage recipes and found one . . . → Read More: Finally, Friday.

Dilled Green Beans

I found an unusual (for me) burst of energy around 9:00 last night and decided to dill the green beans that I had bought at the Farmers’ Market last weekend. I stemmed and snapped them, steamed them and was preparing to boil the vinegar, water, sugar and salt mixture when I remembered the dill, the . . . → Read More: Dilled Green Beans
