I bought some very cool holiday mugs last year after Christmas. They must have been really on sale because I bought five of them. If I had to guess, I would assume they were 75% off.
My intent was to give them to my co-workers for the 2022 holiday but I wanted to throw in something a bit more. I found a typical hot cocoa mix recipe but tweaked it a bit.
Cup and cocoa mix reading for gifting.
Triple Choco Cocoa Mix
This is a delicious, creamy warming treat.

- 6 c. nonfat dry milk powder
- 3 c. cocoa powder
- 2 1/2 plus 2 T. powdered sugar
- 3/4 t. fine sea salt
- 1 pkg. white chocolate chips
- 1 pkg. 60% cacao chocolate chips
Instructions
- Add all the dry powdered ingredients to a large bowl and carefully whisk until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Add chips and mix.
- To serve use 1/3 c. mix to 1 cup hot milk.
Yield: 30 servings
I used Ghirardelli chips in this recipe. The next time I make this, I think I’ll throw in a bit of cinnamon.
My favorite way to drink this is to use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. You can even use water but it’s not as creamy.
As I mentioned in my last post, In My Kitchen, I don’t know if the upcoming holiday posts will have a theme. We will see. Stay tuned.
On different note, I just finished Mr. Dickens and his Carol by Samantha Silva for an online book club. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I needed a good read lately as I’ve been slogging through struggle-bus books.
I would recommend this for a holiday read or a holiday gift to a reader.
Cocoa sounds so good! That mix is really rich. I just use cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla.
